1. Introduction These terms and conditions (the "Terms") govern the purchase of tickets (the "Ticket(s)") to American Petroleum Institute, Houston Chapter, Severance Tax Conference (the "Event"), organized by the American Petroleum Institute, Houston Chapter (the "Organizer"). By purchasing a Ticket, you (the "Attendee") agree to comply with these Terms.

2. Ticket Purchase and Payment 2.1. All Ticket sales are final except as outlined in Section 5 (Cancellation Policy). 2.2. Tickets must be purchased through the official Event website or authorized third-party sellers. 2.3. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel any Ticket purchase if fraudulent activity is suspected.

3. Event Admission 3.1. Admission to the Event is only permitted with a valid Ticket. 3.2. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse admission to any Attendee who fails to present a valid Ticket or who violates any of these Terms. 3.3. The Organizer may deny entry or remove from the Event any Attendee who engages in disorderly or disruptive behavior, as determined at the Organizer’s sole discretion.

4. Ticket Transfer and Resale 4.1. Tickets are personal and may not be resold or transferred without the Organizer’s prior written consent. 4.2. Any unauthorized resale or transfer of Tickets is prohibited and will result in the cancellation of the Ticket without refund.

5. Cancellation Policy 5.1. The Attendee may cancel their Ticket purchase within 48 hours of the transaction for a full refund, provided the cancellation request is received by the Organizer at least 14 days before the start of the Event. 5.2. To cancel a Ticket purchase within the 48-hour window, the Attendee must submit a cancellation request via email to api@apihouston.org 5.3. After the 48-hour cancellation window, all Ticket sales are final, and no refunds will be issued unless the Event is canceled or postponed by the Organizer. 5.4. In the event of cancellation or postponement of the Event by the Organizer, the refund policy outlined in Section 6 will apply.

6. Event Cancellation or Postponement 6.1. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event for any reason. 6.2. In the event of cancellation, the Organizer will issue a refund for the face value of the Ticket. Refunds for postponed events will be at the discretion of the Organizer. 6.3. The Organizer is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by the Attendee, such as travel or accommodation expenses.

7. Liability 7.1. The Organizer shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage to any person or property that occurs at the Event, unless caused by the Organizer’s gross negligence. 7.2. The Attendee assumes all risks associated with attendance at the Event, including but not limited to the risk of contracting illnesses.

8. Privacy and Data Protection 8.1. The Organizer will collect and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. 8.2. By purchasing a Ticket, the Attendee consents to the Organizer’s use of their personal data for the purposes of managing the Event and for limited marketing purposes, unless the Attendee opts out via email to api@apihouston.org. 8.3 Attendees names will not be used for any future promotional material or advertising except potentially scheduled speakers or presenters.

9. Intellectual Property 9.1. All intellectual property rights in and to the Event, including any materials provided to Attendees, are owned by the Organizer or its licensors. 9.2. The Attendee shall not use or reproduce any Event materials without the Organizer’s prior written consent.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction 10.1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Texas. 10.2. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Texas.

11. Amendments 11.1. The Organizer reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Any such amendments will be posted on the Event website and will be effective immediately upon posting.

12. Severability 12.1. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
